Self-Proclaimed "Big Reader" Made it Through a Whopping Half a Chapter Last Night
At Least the Insomnia is Cured
A woman who claims she's a "big reader" was able to read only a few pages before being whisked to La-La Land in a move that might make her significant other question her self-appointed status.
Mind you, these are the same pages that she "read" the night before but had to reread because she also fell asleep and doesn't understand what is happening in this chapter.
"Work has been crazy lately, which is why I'm so tired, I think. That or this new weed pen I've been enjoying," she smirked.
And her self-righteous reading challenge of 100 books this year that she boldly posted on Instagram this past January...how is that going?
Remember, this is also the same book that the woman posted that she was "obsessed with" on Facebook a few months ago, leading some to wonder just how big a book it really is. It must be like Proust's 'In Search of Lost Time' and have over 4,000 pages if it has taken her this long!
"I'm really into it, and I uhhh, just don't want it to end, I guess," she says.
The woman admits she could do better and needs to carve out more time during her busy day for her hobby, but remember, she also decided to do more "self-help" this year in the form of binging Netflix documentaries, doomscrolling her phone, or talking shit about her job on a co-worker group chat on Whatsapp for an hour before bed.
And her self-righteous reading challenge of 100 books this year that she boldly posted on Instagram this past January...how is that going?
"I'm almost there," she says nervously, eyeing her toppling To Be Read pile. “How many more weeks do we have in December?"
Or in that same promise, when she said she was going to read different genres or a more diverse range of books?
"This isn't just some other trashy romance novel. It's more of a realistic fiction book centering on the struggles a working woman has in the dating world until this really hot Greek waiter bangs her on vacation."
Or when she told her friends at Starbuck she would track her reading in a journal?
"Booktok is like a modern form of journaling."
Or when she Tweeted she was going to hold herself accountable to read by joining a bookclub?
"I'm pretty sure Reese's Book Club is critically acclaimed or something."
Got it. Goodnight, sweetie.
