Cottagecore of the Newest “Cottage Industry,” Candy Cottages

Amid a fraught housing market and rising building costs, one nontraditional home builder has come out a winner with rising sales: this witch right here.
Marlyn Gammore, the witch who famously built her first candy cottage out in the deep, dark forest, is now an influencer for homebuyers looking for an alternative to the normal, boring house for sale.
All of this for just a couple of hundred dollars in baking supplies.
Not only will her builds make you salivate, her one-of-a-kind candy cottages are affordable, too. All of this for just a couple of hundred dollars in baking supplies.
After posting some pictures and videos on her Instagram account where she was seen doing “basic witch” things like scrubbing her cauldron, replacing missing peppermint button shingles, and sweeping out her cages, a user reshared the video and commented with the hashtag #candycottagecore.
It exploded from there.
Gammore says she was contacted by thousands of women who were looking to shed their old, fast-paced lives in the city for more unhallowed, simple-living in the woods. She was taken off guard by her popularity and sudden demand for her aesthetic.
“She’s an inspiration to us all,” said one follower in her fanclub called The Coven. “A lifestyle rooted in traditional skills like child eating, sorcery, and necromancy.”
She first consulted on several candy cottage builds but then started making the supplies herself, repurposing the stove that she used to roast all those lost children in. Now she personally builds or oversees the construction of at least 9 different models of candy homes all around Europe.
Her designs are unpretentious, minimalist, and low-impact, but have enough sugar-rush flourish to entice children from the local villages. Her homes range from 400-1,000 square feet and will always build to suit. Need some extra dungeon space? How about some functional space for your pet black goat who might also be an incarnation of Satan himself? No problem.
And now its no longer just homes. Gammore has expanded her brand and become a lifestyle guru to members of The Coven, also offering beauty, wellness, and fashion tips. Her videos have millions of viewers and have become almost an essential viewing for women looking to become enchantresses, beldames, or hags.
“Marlyn changed my life,” said one follower named Luna. “With her help I was able to quit my job, pursue my passion, and build my dream cottage undisturbed in a quiet wood.”
“I used to change diapers and send emails… now I cast spells and host orgies,” she cackled.
