The Knight of Cups is having problems engaging the world with love and compassion, and many attribute it to his rampant alcoholism.
Rarely seen without his goblet, people are worried that the Knight is perhaps consuming alcohol a little too liberally and becoming chemically dependent.

It will take someone with a lot of courage to talk to the Knight about his problem, and friends and family are hoping The Magician might be the right person for the job. But in his current condition, The Magician said he is skeptical that he can do anything for him.
"I'm a magician, not a miracle worker," he said.
Friends became concerned recently when they caught him quintuple-fisting, chugging wine out of the Five of Cups.
"At first the Fool tried to stage an intervention," said the Hierophant. "That obviously did not go well."
Lately, they've noticed he was no longer sitting upright. The Knight has been more nervous and troubled than usual; his speech has become slurred and his gestures erratic.
"He's constantly charging into battle now at the slightest provocation," said the Hermit. "I don't think he should be riding that horse in his condition."
Witnesses close to the situation say the Knight hasn't really been himself ever since his nasty breakup with the High Priestess. Rumors swirled about her fidelity and a possible affair with The Knight of Wands.
There were even whispers that she had a threesome with The Lovers.
"The end of their relationship really got bad," said The Emperor. "After the break-up he said he no longer wanted to participate in the world with compassion and altruism.”
Then it started to get more dark. “He would ‘joke’ that he was going to drown himself in The River or jump off The Mountains. It's really sad."
Hopefully The Magician will be able to get through to him. Perhaps by using positive language like "How about we try to reconnect with the divine" or offering support like "The Chariot will always be there for you to lean on," The Magician will be able to help inspire the same hope in the Knight of Cups that he inspires in so many others.
